New Destiny

Well...I was right on 24 out of my 30 Election 2006 predictions. Not bad...but unfortunately the election last night was bloodier than I expected. I'll talk more about it later. Its not what I want to talk about tonight.

Last night I was accepted into the Teach for America program. I will be teaching elementary school in New York City next year and moving to New York City in June. Because of this monumentous change in my life...I am starting up a new blog entirely devoted to my Teach for America experience.

Here it is:

http://newacademicvision.blogspot.com

Check it out!

My Xanga will, however, continue and will continue to be devoted to politics, emo, and nerdiness.

The election was not unfortunate at all for conservatives imo. Indeed, it could be in fact viewed as a victory for conservatives who want their party back from those who hijaked it 6 years ago. Perhaps now the Republican party can get back to believing in small government, and fiscal conservatism. Perhaps now the Republican party will stop trying to undermine the separation of church and state, and stop endangering our troops by destroying the Geneva Conventions. Over the last 6 years this administration has divided this country through fear and hatred tactics. Its time conservatives took back their party, and acknowledged that what the Republican party has become, is not who we want to be. I have no overwhelming faith in the Democrats ability to govern, but if this is what it takes to send a message to the Republican leaders, then so be it. Down with Santorum, up with McCain. Down with Karl Rove up with Arnold (or at least his advisors).
